For 49 years the National Defense Authorization Act was a simple law signed off on by the President to give the Department of Defense the money it needed to get through another 12 months of spending.

This year, the Senate Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich) and senior member John McCain (R.-Ariz.) crafted provisions for the bill that many said would erode the 5th Amendment.

Now Bob Unruh at WND reports state and local officials are refusing to cooperate with federal plans to detain Americans — something the NDAA expressly enforces.

This act is one of the scariest things to come out of Washington in the last ten years. And there have been some really scary stuff.

CoH please

What is real scary is that our congress, which fights over everything, was able to come together to insert laws to erode our rights. What is even more scary is that our liberal president signed them, and signed them with glee.

Can you imagine if Nixon had a"law" like this on the books?

Wanna bet Obama caves on the pipeline!

What do you mean "caves"? The Obama admin, along with several mid-westerns states, have already said the pipeline will be approved as long as it is re-routed away from the major aquifers. The "denial" was merely a political red-herring to garner support once the new route is announced.

America is becoming less of the United States as Congress continues to erode personal freedoms while enriching themselves. I truly believe that we are swiftly coming to a point where states will want to succeed from the union and individuals will start to fight back. What will the troops do, follow orders or follow their conscious?

I think as usual the troops will do what they are ordered to do! But we can always pray for the other situation and that they will they will join us.

You don't have to worry maria lyn.

I make a practice of not deleting any post unless it's an attack on someone but in this case the two posts were by the same person, were identical and were about some photo of Sochi Six, what ever that is. Not about this thread

We really need to make our politicians take an intensive course on the Constitution, and then make them pass a test before they can be sworn in.

So it is only that news cycle and then there is no continuing threat to the Constitution? On to other things? WTF? IS IT A THREAT OR NOT? How about Habeas Corpus? That been re-instated? Ahhhhhh.. no threat there either!

Too bad that states are quick to run over individual civil rights whenever it suits their own purposes.
